After the cancellation of a number sporting fixtures last weekend in respect to the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the Premier League returns this weekend with a stripped down schedule of matches, including London club West Ham United.
West Ham’s last encounter in the Premier League was marred in another VAR controversy as they saw a last minute equaliser against rivals Chelsea ruled out for being offside, leading to West Ham manager David Moyes labelling the decision as shocking.

It was one of a number of games officiated that weekend which led to the Premier League requesting a report by the Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL) into some of the decisions made by referees and VAR.
West Ham however bounced back in their UEFA Conference League match against FCSB, beating the Romanian team 3-1, with the team set to play their second European game this Thursday against Silkeborg

It was the Merseyside derby for Everton in their last Premier League fixture as they faced neighbours Liverpool who have had a frustrating start to their Premier League campaign.
It was further frustration for Jurgen Klopp’s side, as both teams saw out a 0-0 draw at Goodison Park, and despite having an overwhelming percentage of possession and 23 shots on goal, could not see themselves past England international Jordan Pickford.

The draw lifted Everton into 16th in the Premier League table, while Liverpool dropped down to 7th.
