Brighton and Hove Triathlon - South-East’s biggest triathlon set to sell out again!

The Brighton and Hove Triathlon returns to the seafront on Sunday 31st August 2025, and this year’s edition is set to be the biggest in its nine-year history. With capacity expanded to 2,000 athletes and over 1,800 entries already confirmed, places are expected to sell out well before race day.

Located less than an hour from London by direct train and easily reached via the M23 and A23, the event offers unbeatable convenience for athletes travelling from the capital. Whether you’re coming for the day or making a weekend of it, Brighton’s excellent transport links mean you can race one of the UK’s most exciting triathlons without the hassle of long-distance travel.

Firmly established as the largest closed-road triathlon in the South East, the race attracts a mix of complete beginners, seasoned club athletes, and elites. Its fast, flat course along the stunning Brighton & Hove seafront is perfect for first-timers and those chasing personal bests.

Brighton and Hove Triathlon was named Triathlon England’s 2025 Children’s Event of the Year, reflecting its commitment to inclusivity and the exceptional atmosphere of its junior races. Organisers TriBourne Multisport Events have also secured multiple Event of the Year awards for their Eastbourne Triathlon and Multisport Festival, which returns on 12th July 2026.

The race begins with a sea swim beside Hove Lawns, followed by a fully closed-road cycle along Kings Road, and finishes with a fast run on the promenade. Thousands of spectators line the route every year, creating an electric race-day buzz.

As well as delivering a great sporting challenge, the event makes the perfect weekend escape. Brighton offers beaches, boutique shops, and an incredible food scene, making it easy to combine racing with relaxation.

Macmillan Cancer Support continues as the official charity partner, with tens of thousands raised annually for people living with cancer.

The organisers are also seeking over 200 volunteers to help across the weekend, supporting with registration, water stations, course marshalling, and athlete welfare. Volunteers receive a TriBourne shirt, water bottle, hot meal, and £25 race credit for every four hours worked.

Race Director Dale Anderton said: “With Brighton just a short train ride from London, this is the perfect event for athletes in the capital looking for a high-quality, big-atmosphere race without the travel stress. Whether you’re racing, volunteering, or cheering from the sidelines, you’ll be part of something truly special.”

With a record number of entries and limited space remaining, London-based athletes are urged to secure their spot now. To enter, volunteer, or find out more, visit www.brightonandhovetriathlon.com or email [email protected].
