MK Dons against AFC Wimbledon will always attract attention - but it is extra special when it’s the FA Cup and the standout tie of the round.

And a former Premier League star is tipping the team from south London to emerge victorious.

The two sides go head-to-head in an all-League Two affair at Stadium MK on Sunday. It’s a grudge match like no other given the history of the two clubs, and former striker-turned TV pundit Clinton Morrison cannot wait.

“It is just a good derby and a good game,” he said. “Everyone loves bragging rights, and I’m expecting the game to live up to its billing.”

There is more than a little history between the clubs since Wimbledon FC relocated to Milton Keynes in 2003 and subsequently changed their name to MK Dons in the summer of 2004. AFC Wimbledon were formed as a phoenix club and have climbed the divisions since their emergence two decades ago.

The Wombles have had a steady start to their League Two campaign, currently sitting 13th in the table but just three points off the play-off spots with three games in hand.

Fantastic

“AFC Wimbledon have been in good form this year and I'd give them a good chance of getting into the play-offs and even trying to get promoted. I think the job Johnnie Jackson has done is fantastic,” added Morrison.

“I know it's at MK Dons and difficult, but they're in good form. So, I can see AFC Wimbledon and Johnnie Jackson causing a bit of an upset.”

In the opposing camp, Scott Lindsey’s side have been in decent form, clocking up three wins on the bounce and will be looking avenge a 3-0 defeat in their League meeting with Wimbledon in September.

“MK Dons have appointed a new manager who had a brilliant spell at Crawley, and I think I think they'll start climbing the table, because the job he did at Crawley, the style of football is fantastic,” said Morrison.
