Love Island 2023: Kai and Tanyel spark predicted to ‘break’ if new bombshell enters the villa

Kai Fagan and Tanyel Revan’s spark could fizzle out quickly if a new bombshell enters the villa, says Luke Franks.

The TV presenter, 31, from London, joined Indiyah Polack, 24, and Sam Thompson, 30, as they discussed Tuesday night’s episode of Love Island on the Love Island: The Morning After podcast.

The trio admitted they were shocked by the behaviour of the contestants, with Shaq Muhammad having told Tanya Manhenga that he is open to getting to know Zara Lackenby-Brown and Kai seemingly ending his pursuit of Anna-May Robey to focus on Tanyel.

Luke revealed to the regular podcast hosts that he would send a bombshell in to test Kai, 24, from Manchester, and Tanyel, 26, from North London, because he doesn’t think they have strong chemistry.

The discussion about which couples need to be tested came after Luke explained that he believes Lana Jenkins, 25, from Luton, and Ron Hall, 25, from Essex, will remain together until the end of the series because they’ve already had to overcome challenges.

The TV presenter said he would like to see Shaq and Tanya’s relationship tested, before detailing further why it would be interesting to watch how a new bombshell could impact Kai and Tanyel’s spark.

Luke said: “Kai and Tanyel, it’s there but it’s not really there. I reckon if it got tested it would break quite quickly.”

“I think Kai would do a runner and Tanyel would as well. I still believe that if Ron actually gave her what she wanted Tanyel would put a couple more eggs in his basket,” Sam commented.

Indiyah agreed that Kai and Tanyel should be tested but admitted that she isn’t convinced Tanyel likes Ron enough to date the financial advisor despite finding him attractive.

Luke added: “I think they fancy each other loads.”

The debate over Kai and Tanyel’s chemistry comes after Kai’s friend Luke, 24, revealed to New! Magazine that the teacher decided to apply to go on the reality show after having his heart broken last summer.

He explained that Kai felt like he had been wasting his time with a girl who wasn’t interested in a long-term relationship. Kai was contacted by recruiters just a day after applying to go on Love Island.

Kai’s friend Luke said: “They’d been almost-together for around six months. He took her on a weekend away in August.

“While they were away, he asked her "what are we?", but she told him she wasn’t actually looking for anything serious.”
