Police are appealing for witnesses after a motorcyclist was killed in a fatal collision in east London.

The crash happened shortly before 2am on Thursday (November 24) on the A12 at the junction with Blake Hall Road/A100 in Wanstead.

Officers attended with paramedics from the London Ambulance Service.

The 31-year-old rider of a red Honda motorcycle was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital in a critical condition.

Despite the best efforts of medical staff, he did not survive his injuries.

His family have been informed and are being supported by officers.

Detectives from the Roads and Transport Policing Command are investigating. At this early stage, it is not believed that any other vehicles were involved.

Officers would like to speak with anyone who was in the area at the time, or who captured the collision on dash cam.
