The Met Office has issued a yellow wind warning for the capital with gusts expected to reach 55mph.

According to the hourly forecast for London, gusts are expected to reach around 50mph at 2pm.

The warning came into effect last night and will remain in place until 6pm today (15th September).

The Met Office has said: “Strong and gusty winds are likely to cause some disruption to travel and interruptions to power.”

It added that some bus and train services may be affected by high winds, and there may be delays for high-sided vehicles on exposed routes and bridges.

London is likely to experience some blustery scattered showers throughout the remainder of today.

The Met Office has said “gales are likely”, making it feel cooler than it is with maximum temperatures of 19C in the capital.
