TfL latest updates: Part of the Piccadilly Line closed due to Storm Benjamin warnings

The Piccadilly Line is partly closed due to high winds and torrential rain caused by Storm Benjamin.

Transport for London (TfL) has closed part of the Piccadilly line today (October 23) as storm Benjamin brings strong winds and heavy rain to the capital.

As a precautionary measure in response to the Met Office’s yellow weather warnings for rain and wind, services will be suspended between Rayners Lane and Uxbridge.

The part closure will come into effect today and is expected to be in place until this Saturday, October 25.

TfL have advised Londoners should use the Metropolitan line as an alternative during the closure.

The Met Office put in place yellow rain and wind warnings yesterday (October 22) for southern parts of the country including the UK capital.

Having started in the early hours of this morning, both the weather alerts are in place across the day and into the night.

The central line is also facing severe delays today due to train cancellations between White City and West Ruislip, and between Leytonstone and Epping.

However it has not been confirmed if the cancellations are caused by storm Benjamin.
