Storm Herminia is heading to London and is set to bring more strong winds to the city.

After London felt the wrath of Storm Éowyn over the weekend, the capital is set to experience more strong winds as Storm Herminia takes over.

40mph winds are expected in the city over the next few days as Herminia arrives in the capital. Winds are set to reach up to 46mph in London around midday today (January 27) before easing slightly in the afternoon and evening.

The strong winds will continue tomorrow (January 28) as gusts are forecast to stay around 40mph in the early morning before slowing down to around 30mph by the afternoon.

The Met Office has issued several weather warnings for the UK for the next few days with London having been issued a yellow wind alert. The meteorological service’s alert for London was enforced from 6am this morning to 6am tomorrow and warned it could cause delays on transport.

An additional warning for rain is also in force in the South of England, although this does not apply to the capital. Londoners should brace for wet and windy conditions over the coming days as rain is set to drench the capital today into tomorrow afternoon.
