London weather: Met office predicts ‘mini-October heatwave’ this weekend

Londoners will be treated to a spell of warm weather this weekend as the Met office predicts “above average” temperatures.

The national weather forecaster has predicted temperatures will reach 23 degrees Celsius on Saturday and Sunday in the capital.

A Met Office spokesperson said:“As we head towards the end of the week warm or very warm air is likely to be  drawn up from the south across the UK pushing temperatures well above average for the time of year, particularly for southern areas of the country, where some places may reach the mid 20’s.

“How long this warmer spell will remain for southern areas is uncertain, but temperatures will likely decrease into the start of next week.”

Londoners should expect sunny spells developing from Friday with temperatures above average throughout.
