Bromley and Croydon locals will be the first to see the white stuff, with the first few flakes from 11am.

Light flurries are now forecast across the city starting from the early afternoon. North London areas including Islington and Tottenham are both set to have brief snowfall at around 6pm.

Monday's expected snow comes as the Met Office issued a yellow weather warning for ice this morning for south London as well as parts of Kent and Sussex.

A second yellow warning has since followed, saying Londoners could experience icy and snowy conditions from 3pm into the early morning.

Today's wintery weather may not be the only expected appearance of snow this month. The WX Charts weather map shows that London could see more snow towards the end of the month.
