Giant Domino's pizza boxes spotted riding escalators during rush hour in London

Commuters at Liverpool Street Station were left laughing as two people dressed as giant Domino’s pizza boxes rode the escalators during rush hour.

Commuters at Liverpool Street Station were left in stitches this week after spotting two people dressed as giant Domino’s pizza boxes riding the escalators.

The hilarious scene stopped travellers in their tracks as the human-sized boxes wobbled down the escalators, their heads poking out of the tops, much to the delight of onlookers.

Commuter Brittany, who filmed the spectacle and posted it to TikTok, said: “I was heading home through Liverpool Street when I saw these giant Domino’s pizza boxes literally riding down the escalator. Everyone kept stopping – people were laughing, filming, totally confused. One person shouted, ‘Guess someone’s dinner’s running late!’”

The clip quickly went viral, shared by Instagram account @itsallmaad, and has already notched up more than 100,000 views.

Social media users were quick to pile on the jokes, with one person commenting: “Finally, a size of garlic and herb dip I can get behind.”

Another added: “Liverpool Street is built different,” alongside laughing emojis.

But it turns out the stunt wasn’t just for fun; it was part of Domino’s latest Halloween launch.

The pizza chain revealed the pair were modelling its new limited-edition XXL pizza box costumes, designed especially for couples who want to go as the ultimate slice-and-side duo this spooky season.

Inspired by Domino’s iconic red and blue boxes, the oversized outfits feature clever face cut-outs where the brand’s famous dots usually sit.

According to the pizza giant, nearly half a million pizzas were ordered across the UK during Halloween week last year, with the ever-popular Pepperoni Passion alone racking up more than 50,000 orders.
