Police have launched a manhunt after a gunman shot two men dead and left another critically injured after an incident in Henley Road, Ilford on Tuesday, 25 October.

Police are hunting a gunman who shot the two males dead in Henley Road, Ilford in the early hours of Tuesday, 25 October.

A third male was left fighting for his life following the incident, in a residential road.

Armed Metropolitan Police (Met) officers attended the scene following reports of a “fight in progress and shots being fired” at 00.16am.

The three males with found with gunshot injuries and Scotland Yard stated one of the victims, aged in his 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene whilst another died a short time later.

Police say they know the identity of the victim in his 20s and are currently working to confirm the identity of the other man, who died shortly afterwards.

A Met Police statement released this morning, said: “The third victim, aged in his 30s, was taken to hospital, where he remains in a critical condition.

“At this early stage there have been no arrests. Enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing. Crime scenes and road closures are in place.”

Cllr Khayer Chowdhury, of the nearby Valentines ward and Cabinet Member for Crime, Safety & Community Cohesion said he was “aware of this shocking incident” and asked locals not to “speculate on what happened or spread any misinformation on social media”.

The London Ambulance Service attended the scene and said they were called to the shooting at 12.12am.

It said: “We sent a number of resources to the scene, including two ambulance crews, an advanced paramedic, a medic in a fast response car, two incident response officers, a clinical team leader and members of our tactical response unit.

“We also dispatched a trauma team from London’s Air Ambulance which consisted of a paramedic and a doctor in a car.

“We treated three people at the scene and took one person to a major trauma centre. Sadly, despite the best efforts of our crews, two people were pronounced dead at the scene.”
