One passenger said: "There were about 10 people on the upper deck including me and these kids noticed the window was gone.

"They started putting their hands out of the window, trying to touch other buses that were driving past.

"It was actually quite dangerous."

According to the eyewitness, the driver had not noticed the window was missing until kids alerted him when they got off the bus.

He said: "The kids got off at Camberwell, which is when I think the driver realised. He told us all that we had to get off because it wasn't safe.

"I still have no idea what happened. It must have slipped out or something and no one really took notice

"I do know that is was one of the new buses they are just rolling out, so could be a fault with the new buses."

A Transport for London (TfL) spokesperson said: "Safety is our top priority. We are aware of this footage and are investigating with the operator, London Central."
