Train and TfL Tube cancellations amid Storm Ciarán - King's Cross rail disruption and Underground chaos

National Rail is warning of cancellations, delays and disruption as Storm Ciarán hits London.

London train services have been severly impacted as Storm Ciarán strikes the UK.

Yellow weather warnings for rain and wind remain in place for London on Thursday (November 2), with amber warnings elsewhere in the country.

During the evening rush hour TfL's Hammersmith and City line was suspended due to a trespasser on the tracks and six other lines were facing delays. The Circle, District, Jubilee, Metropolitan and Piccadilly line were all impacted

National Rail said: "Heavy rain accompanied by strong winds in some areas could affect journeys across Wales and the South of England today, and across the North East of England today, Thursday, and tomorrow, Friday. Some areas of Eastern Scotland may be affected as well throughout this week."

Storm Ciarán London travel disruption

Elizabeth line - good service

TfL is now reporting a good service on the Elizabeth line after earlier issues due to floods.

In fact, the only service issue on the TfL rail network is a part suspension of the Piccadilly line - no service between Rayners Lane and Uxbridge due to "difficult track conditions caused by significant leaf fail". *Probably 'fall'.

TfL is now reporting just minor delays between Paddington and Shenfield on the Elizabeth line due to flooding caused by heavy rain.

There are also minor delays between Heathrow Airport and Hayes & Harlington due to an earlier track fault at Heathrow Airport.

Romford to Shenfield

Following flooding between between Shenfield and Romford, lines have reopened.

Severe delays continue on the Elizabeth line between Paddington and Shenfield due to flooding caused by heavy rain in the Shenfield area.

Everyone needs to get a grip on their trampolines.

Moorgate to Finsbury Park

A fault with the signalling system between Moorgate and Finsbury Park means some lines are disrupted. As a result, trains may be delayed. This is expected until 11.15am.

Shenfield to Romford

Flooding between between Shenfield and Romford means some lines are disrupted. Trains may be cancelled, delayed or revised. Disruption is expected until 11:30am.

"We strongly advise that you do not attempt to travel on 'Mainline' routes this morning."

Severe delays between Whitechapel and Shenfield due to flooding caused by heavy rain in the Shenfield area.

Minor delays between Heathrow Airport and Hayes & Harlington due to an earlier track fault at Heathrow.
