Here is the full list of planned TfL service changes this weekend, July 26 to 28.

Londoners travelling into the capital this weekend could be faced with disruption due to closures on Tube and rail services.

Transport for London (TfL) has asked Londoners to check before they travel.

London Underground

Piccadilly line

Friday night, 26 into Saturday July 27

No service between Hyde Park Corner and King's Cross St. Pancras until 3.30am during Friday Night Tube

Use alternative Night Tube services or local bus routes.

Saturday 27 and Sunday July 28

No service between King's Cross St. Pancras and Cockfosters including Friday and Saturday Night Tube

Use alternative Tube and rail services and local bus routes. Rail replacement buses will run between Cockfosters and Finchley Central, and between Arnos Grove and Finsbury Park.

London Overground

Until Sunday August 4

No service between Hackney Downs and Chingford

Use alternative Tube, rail or local bus services. Rail replacement buses will run every 20 minutes, calling at all stations. During weekday morning peak hours, a one-way system will operate at Walthamstow Central. This is due to Network Rail bridge replacement works.

Service changes between Liverpool Street and Enfield Town/Cheshunt

Revised services will be operating between Liverpool Street and Enfield Town/Cheshunt. During peak hours on Mondays to Fridays, fewer trains will be running to/from Enfield Town and Cheshunt. Services will be re-timed.

Stansted Express services/Seven Sisters one-way system

Stansted Express services will run via Seven Sisters on Mondays to Saturdays, and will not serve Tottenham Hale. Services to/from Stansted Airport will only run via Tottenham Hale on Sunday July 28 and Sunday August 4.

Buses and roads

Until Sunday August 18

Lille Road/Old Brompton Road

Until Sunday August 18, Lille Road/Old Brompton Road will be closed in both directions between the junctions of Seagrave Road and Eardley Crescent for Thames Water works.

Thursday July 25

O2 Arena

From 6.30pm until 10.30pm, the O2 Arena will host Michael Bolton in concert. Large crowds and increased traffic levels are expected before and after the event.

Wembley Stadium

From 7.15pm until 10.30pm, Wembley Stadium will host Bruce Springsteen in concert. Road closures will be in place around the stadium from 3.15pm until 0.30am. Large crowds and increased traffic levels are expected before and after the event.

Friday July 26 until mid-October

Rowley Lane Flyover, Barnet

Until mid-October, there will be a series of lane closures and overnight directional closures of the A1 Barnet Bypass at the junction with Rowley Lane. This is for critical safety works to the flyover. 

Overnight directional closures will take place between 9pm and 5am only with signed diversion routes for all traffic. The first directional closure will be northbound overnight on Friday July 26. 

Lane closures, reducing the A1 to two lanes from three, will be in place 24/7 and affect one direction at a time, except between Monday September 9 and Wednesday October 10, when there will be a lane out in both directions. TfL has asked drivers to plan ahead and leave more time for your journey.

Saturday July 27

Central London

From 10am until 5pm, a protest rally will take place from Royal Courts to Trafalgar Square. Large crowds and increased traffic levels are expected.

From 10am until 5pm, a march will take place from Oxford Circus to Wellington Arch. Large crowds and increased traffic levels are expected.

From 1pm until 4pm, a religious event will take place at Parliament Square. Large crowds are expected.

Newham

From 12pm until 7pm, a triathlon will take place around Newham, with road closures between Gallions Roundabout and Leamoth Roundabout. A professional women's cycle race will also take place on roads within Newham between 2pm and 6pm. Large crowds, increased traffic levels and delays are expected.

Chiswick House

From 12pm until 10.30pm, Chiswick House will host a festival event. Large crowds are expected.

Lord's Cricket Ground

From 3pm until 10pm, Lord's Cricket Ground will host The Hundred cricket tournament. Large crowds and increased traffic levels are expected.

O2 Academy Brixton

From 6.30pm until 11pm, O2 Academy will host Bleachers in concert. Large crowds and increased traffic levels are expected before and after the event.

Saturday 27 and Sunday July 28

Ealing Common

From 11am until 10pm each day, Ealing Common will host a music event. Large crowds are expected.

Blackheath

From 12pm until 10pm on Saturday and from 12pm until 11.30pm on Sunday, Blackheath will host a music event. Large crowds and increased traffic levels are expected.

Bayswater

From 6am until 11am, there will be traffic held on Bayswater Road/Edgware Road while filming takes place. Delays are expected.

Twickenham Stadium

From 8am until 8pm, Twickenham Stadium will be hosting the High Tide music event. Large crowds and increased traffic levels are expected throughout the day.

Monday July 29 until Wednesday August 28

Whitehall

There will be two separate directional closures of Whitehall for works by Westminster City Council. 

Work will take place Monday to Friday between 8am and 6pm, and Saturdays between 8am and 1pm, starting on the southbound carriageway from the junction with Trafalgar Square, before moving to northbound from Wednesday August 14, from the junction with Great Scotland Yard.

While the closures are in place, all traffic including some bus services will be on diversion. TfL has asked driver to follow the official diversion routes, check before you travel and leave more time for your journey.

Grosvenor Road and Lupus Street

From Monday July 29 until mid-October, Grosvenor Road will be closed eastbound between Royal Hospital Road and Lupus Street for Cadent Gas works. Lupus Street will be closed for the duration of these works.

Delays are expected on all approaches to Grosvenor Road, especially during peak travel hours, with local roads also expected to be busy as people use alternative routes. Bus routes 24 and 360 will be on diversion. Allow more time for your journey and check before you travel. 

A24 Balham High Road/Upper Tooting Road

From Monday July 29 until July 2025, there will be a series of lane restrictions and temporary traffic signals in place on A24 Balham High Road/Upper Tooting Road between the junction with Ravenstone Street and the junction with Blackshaw Road. This is due to essential Thames Water works.

Customers travelling through the area should allow more time for their journey, consider alternative routes and check before they travel. If travelling locally, consider walking or cycling where possible. 

Brixton Road

From 9pm until 6am each night until late July, Brixton Road will be closed in phases between Acre Lane and New Camberwell Road due to essential road surfacing works. 

TfL will be introducing temporary bus route 759 to help customers complete their journeys during these works, which will run between Oval station and Brixton (Effra Road) via Brixton Road and Camberwell New Road, following sections of bus route P5. 

Customers using route 759 will still need to touch in to pay for their journey, but the Hopper fare will still be active on this route for customers changing buses.

Buses which usually operate on Brixton Road (3, 59, 133, 159, 415, N109 and N133) will be diverted during the works, with no service on Brixton Road between Stockwell Road and Camberwell New Road. 

A12 Colchester Road

Until late September, there will be directional lane restrictions on the A12 Colchester Road between the junction with the M25 and the junction with Woodstock Avenue. This is due to essential Thames Water works. For more information, visit the National Highways website.

Customers travelling during this time should allow more time to complete their journey, and check before they travel.

A10 Kingsland High Street

Until October 6, works are taking place on the A10 Kingsland High Street at the junction of Sandringham Road. This is to install new pedestrian and cycling crossing facilities across Kingsland High Street.

There will be lane closures on the A10 Kingsland High Street until Sunday July 28. Traffic will be managed one direction at a time and delays to your journey are likely. Sandringham Road will be closed until Sunday August 31.

Roads in the surrounding areas are also likely to be busier as people use alternative routes. Allow more time for your journey and check before you travel. 

A40 Westway

Until October 2024, there will be a series of closures affecting the slip roads on and off the A40 at the Westway roundabout and on the A3220 West Cross route. This is due to critical safety works.

The first phase of these works will be until Thursday August 22, when the eastbound off-slip and the southbound A3220 West Cross route from the Westway roundabout will be closed. Drivers will not be able to exit the A40 to join the A3220 West Cross route travelling southbound. The westbound on-slip and A3220 northbound will remain open.

On the A40, the approach to Wood Lane, diversion routes and local roads are expected to be extremely busy. Customers are urged to plan ahead and use alternative routes where possible. 

Use alternative routes such as the A312 The Parkway or the A406 North Circular for connections with the A4. 

For access to Westfield White City, use local public transport, walk or cycle where possible.
