London Underground

Central line

TfL has apologised for the continued disruption on the Central line caused by an abnormally high number of motor failures across the fleet. Engineers are working around the clock to improve the situation as quickly as possible.

A new timetable has been introduced to minimise unpredictable long gaps between trains.

The new timetable will see 21 trains per hour during the evening peak times, instead of the average 30 trains per hour currently scheduled - although TfL says the line has not been running at the level for a number of weeks.

Separately, due to issues with track monitoring equipment, there are temporary speed restrictions in some locations. Trains may run slower with fewer services to Hainault via Newbury Park.
