TfL this weekend December 15 to 17: Overground, Elizabeth line and DLR disruptions

Londoners travelling into the capital this weekend could be faced with disruption due to closures on TfL services.

Transport for London (TfL) has asked Londoners to check before they travel this weekend.

Here is the full list of planned TfL service changes this weekend, December 15 to 17.

London Overground

Saturday 16 and Sunday December 17

No service between Surrey Quays and Clapham Junction

Rail replacement buses will run every 30 minutes. This is due to Network Rail works.

Sunday December 17

Trains to/from Chingford will not call at Bethnal Green until after 11.30pm.

Use alternative London Overground services to/from Enfield Town or Cheshunt. This is due to Network Rail works.

Monday 18 until Thursday December 21

No westbound service from Camden Road to Willesden Junction after 11.45pm each night.

The last through train from Stratford will depart at 11.44pm. Alternatively, use the Northern line from Camden Town, London Overground services from Euston or local bus routes. This is due to Network Rail works.

Tuesday 19 until Friday December 22

No southbound service from Willesden Junction to Shepherd's Bush until 6.15am each day

The first through train from Willesden Junction to Clapham Junction will depart at 6.23am, or alternatively use local bus routes 220 or 228. This is due to Network Rail works.

Elizabeth line

Saturday December 16

The last train from Heathrow Terminal 5 to Paddington (at 0.07am) will terminate at Ealing Broadway

Sunday December 17

No service between Paddington and Ealing Broadway until 7.45am.

Until 5.30am, customers travelling between central London and Heathrow should use the Piccadilly line.

Customers travelling between central London and Heathrow between 5.30am and 8am should use the Central line to Ealing Broadway to connect with Elizabeth line services. This is due to Network Rail HS2 readiness works.

DLR

Saturday 16 and Sunday December 17

No service between Canning Town and Woolwich Arsenal

Use Southeastern Railway services between Greenwich and Woolwich Arsenal to connect with DLR services. Rail replacement buses will run every 10 minutes.

Buses and roads

Strike action affecting bus routes in west London is planned on Thursday 21, Friday 22 and Saturday December 23.

If the strike action goes ahead, little or no service is expected on the affected routes between approximately 5am on Thursday December 21 and approximately 6am on Sunday December 24. The following routes will be affected: 13, 23, 28/N28, 218, 295, 414, 452.

All other bus routes will operate as normal.

Friday December 15

The O2, North Greenwich

The O2 will be hosting Madness in concert from 6pm until 11.30pm. Large crowds and increased traffic are expected at the beginning and end of the event.

Saturday December 16

Drumsheds, Tottenham Hale

From 12pm until 10.30pm, a concert will take place at Drumsheds. Large crowds and delays are expected at the beginning and end of the event.

Southwark area

St George's Cathedral Procession will be taking place from 5.15pm until 5.45pm. The procession will begin at St George's Road and end at St George's Cathedral, via Westminster Bridge Road and Lambeth Road. Large crowds are expected.

The O2, North Greenwich

The O2 will be hosting Peter Kay from 6pm until 11pm. Large crowds and increased traffic are expected at the beginning and end of the event.

Sunday December 17

Wilton Road, Victoria

From 6am until 11.59pm on Sunday December 17, Wilton Road will be closed to buses. 

If works cannot be completed on Sunday, further closures of Wilton Road will take place from 9pm on Monday December 18 until 5am the following morning, and from 9pm on Tuesday December 19 until 5am the following morning.

The O2, North Greenwich

The O2 will be hosting Tom Jones in concert from 6pm until 11.30pm. Large crowds and increased traffic are expected at the beginning and end of the event.

Sundays 17 and December 24

Chatsworth Road, Hackney

From 6am until 11.30pm on Sundays 17 and December 24, a community Christmas market will take place on Chatsworth Road. During these times, Chatsworth Road will be closed between Dunlace Road and Rushmore Road. Large crowds are expected.

A205, Brownhill Road

Until Monday December 18, there will be a series of lane restrictions and temporary traffic signals on Brownhill Road between the junction with Laleham Road and the junction with Verdant Lane/Hither Green Lane, between 9.30am and 3.30pm daily. This is due to essential maintenance works.

During this time, delays are expected in the area. If travelling through the area, check before you travel, allow more time for your journey, and where possible consider alternative routes.

A4, Great West Road

Until mid-February 2024, lane restrictions will be in place on the A4 Great West Road between the junction with Ealing Road and the junction with Clayponds Avenue. This is due to National Highways work on the M4 Chiswick Flyover.
