TfL Tube: Person dies on Central line tracks during Monday rush hour - August 7

A person died in an incident on the tracks on Monday morning (August 7).

Much of the Central line was suspended by TfL as emergency services were called to Queensway Tube station.

A person was pronounced dead at the scene.

A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: “Officers were called to Queensway Underground station at 7.03am today (August 7) to reports of a casualty on the tracks. Paramedics also attended. However, sadly, a person was pronounced dead at the scene.

“The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”

The Central line was suspended between White City and Liverpool Street, and severe delays continue on the line.

Tickets are being accepted by London Buses, Great Western Railway, Greater Anglia, London Overground and the Elizabeth line.
