Commuters arrived at Northern line stations in south London to find the service suspended on Wednesday morning (April 10).

A fire alert was reported by Transport for London (TfL) at Balham and the line was suspended between Kennington and Morden. It has since reopened but severe delays continue.

Planned engineering works mean there is already no service between Golders Green and Edgware in north London.

The Bakerloo line earlier had minor delays “due to train cancellations”, according to TfL.

Earlier delays on the Central line have cleared.

Until April 24 the Tram line has no service between Wellesley Road / George Street and Beckenham Junction / Elmers End / New Addington. Eastbound trams will operate from Wimbledon to Wellesley Road, and westbound trams will operate from George Street to Wimbledon.
