Whether you love it or hate it, getting the London Underground is part of daily life for the average Londoner.

Although it's not exactly cheap, it's an effective and convenient way to travel around the capital.

While the rich and famous may have access to private chauffeur driven cars, some enjoy the thrill of taking the Tube.

Paul Mescal, star of All of Us Strangers, recently revealed his top three London rail services to Transport for London (TfL).

The Oscar nominee ranked the Northern line as his favourite Tube line as it is “fast and you can get from Camden to Tottenham Court Road in about 9 to 11 minutes”.

He described the Elizabeth line as “pretty fancy” but ranked it in third place. The Normal People star put the Victoria line in second place due to its speed.

Another A-lister who recently shared their love for the London Underground is Sex and the City star Sarah Jessica Parker.

The actress, who is starring in Plaza Suite at the Savoy Theatre with her husband Matthew Broderick described London’s transport system as “exquisite”.

Parker said she wanted “to be completely conversant” with the Tube, adding: “I want to know Jubilee, Piccadilly, Northern."

She told What's On Stage: "I want to know Edgware, I want to know all of it, Barnet, High Hill (sic), whatever. I want all of it and I even found a map store that takes me back to the early maps of the Forties. So your system here is so exquisite, you have great public transport.”

Barbie star Margot Robbie loves the Tube so much she still has her Oyster card in her purse from her days of living in a house share in Clapham.

Speaking at the London premiere of Babylon last year, the actress said that she had not one but two Oyster cards in her wallet.

“I always get the Tube.” she said.

She added that she had not yet been on the Elizabeth line but heard that it was “lovely”.

Celebrities spotted on the Tube

Other stars spotted on the Tube include Jay Z. He was seen alongside Coldplay singer Chris Martin on the Jubilee line on the way to his concert at the O2 arena in Greenwich.

Catherine Zeta-Jones surprised fans last year by posting a video on Instagram of her riding the London Underground.

“When you’re the only one on the Tube and you’re very happy,” she declares, turning her camera to reveal an empty carriage, adding: “London, just me, on public transport.”

Other stars you would not expect to see on the Tube include billionaire Rihanna and Kendall Jenner.

There are stretch limousines and private jets but nothing seems to beat the thrill of hearing “Mind the Gap”.
