Ravensbourne station death: Person dies after being hit by Thameslink train on London Blackfriars line

Trains on the line through Shortlands, Nunhead and Elephant and Castle to Blackfriars were cancelled or rerouted between 7am and 9.47am, and there are still some delays on the line.

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 6.54am this morning to reports of a person hit by a train at Ravensbourne Railway Station, Beckenham.

“We sent an ambulance crew, a paramedic in a fast response car and an incident response officer to the scene.

“Sadly a person died at the scene.

“Our crews checked over the driver and passengers on the train.”

Thameslink added: “Sadly, we can confirm that a person was hit by a train earlier this morning between Shortlands and Nunhead.

“Emergency services took over and disruption caused by the incident has now cleared.”
