Marylebone: London station hit by major disruption on Chiltern Railways services to Oxford and Birmingham

A landslip has stopped direct service between Marylebone and Oxford, Banbury or Birmingham Moor Street until Tuesday.

Chiltern Railways was reporting that there was no direct service between London Marylebone and Oxford, Banbury or Birmingham Moor Street on Monday morning.

Heavy rainfall caused a landslip between Haddenham & Thame Parkway and Bicester North.

Network Rail is undertaking repairs and all lines are closed between Haddenham & Thame Parkway and Bicester North / Bicester Village until 7am on Tuesday (January 16).

Chiltern Railways said: "Trains from London Marylebone towards Banbury and Birmingham Moor Street will be cancelled or amended to terminate at Haddenham & Thame Parkway.

"Trains from Birmingham Moor Street and Banbury towards London Marylebone will be cancelled or amended to terminate at Bicester North.

"A limited rail replacement bus service will be running between Haddenham & Thame Parkway and Bicester North.

"Trains between London Marylebone and Oxford will be cancelled in full. A train shuttle service is running between Bicester Village and Oxford."

Tickets can be used on alternative services, at no extra cost, including Arriva buses, the Elizabeth line, London Underground services, Avanti West Coast, Great Western Railway, London Northwestern Railway, Stagecoach buses and West Midlands Railway.

Passengers are advised to check the National Rail website before you travel.

The website also gives details of compensation for disrupted travel.
