London transport: Overground and Elizabeth line among impacted weekend services

While most London transport options will be running as normal for the coming weekend (April 1 and 2), amendments to the Elizabeth line and London Overground services are among the changes worth noting for those looking to travel.

Check out the full list of affected Transport for London (TfL) services below.

London Overground

April 1

  • No service between Gospel Oak and Woodgrange Park, or Surrey Quays and Clapham Junction.

April 2

  • No service between Gospel Oak and Barking Riverside, or again between Surrey Quays and Clapham Junction.
  • There will also be no service between Willesden Junction and Camden Road, via West Hampstead, though only until 11am.

Elizabeth line

April 2

  • No service between Paddington and Ealing Broadway until 7.45am, or between Maidenhead and Reading until 5pm.

DLR

April 1 and 2

  • The service between Stratford International and Canning Town will be down all weekend.

Bus and road services

April 1

  • Increased traffic and large crowds are expected near the O2 Arena in Greenwich due to a boxing match between Anthony Joshua and Jermaine Franklin, from 5.30pm to 11.30pm.
  • The southbound Blackwall Tunnel will be closed to all traffic from 10pm on March 31 to 5am on April 3. The northbound tunnel will be open, but traffic will be diverted between 10pm on April 1 until 6am on April 2, due to work on a new pedestrian and cycling bridge across the A102.

April 2

  • Traffic and large crowds are expected around Wembley Stadium due to the Papa John’s Football Trophy final between 11am and 7pm.
  • The Vaisakhi procession in Southall is being held from 11am to 6pm, with traffic and big crowds anticipated in the area.
  • The London Landmarks Half Marathon is on from 9.20am to 6pm in central London, with road closures in place from 2.30am.
  • The Olivier Awards is on at the Royal Albert Hall, from 5pm to 11pm, with local road closures to be in-place.
  • The Blackwall Tunnel will again be closed southbound, with northbound traffic to be diverted until 6am.
