A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called today (October 3) at 2:03pm to reports of an incident on the tracks at Canning Town Underground Station.

“We sent a number of resources to the scene, including an incident response officer, a medic in a fast-response car, and members of our Hazardous Area Response Team. We also dispatched London’s Air Ambulance.

“Unfortunately, a person was pronounced dead at the scene.”

TfL was earlier reporting no service between North Greenwich and Stratford, though this appears to no longer be the case.

It adds tickets are being accepted on London Buses, DLR, London Overground, Elizabeth line, and Thameslink, between West Hampstead and London Bridge.
