Elizabeth line severe delays and disruption after vandals strike

Vandalism has caused service to be suspended on a stretch of the Elizabeth line.

The Elizabeth line is experiencing severe delays and disruption on Thursday lunchtime after vandals damaged equipment.

Transport for London (TfL) reports that there is no service between Gidea Park and Shenfield.

In addition there are severe delays between Gidea Park and Whitechapel, as well as minor delays between Paddington and Whitechapel.

TfL said crews are working to repair equipment “damaged by vandalism”.

London Underground is accepting tickets via any “reasonable route”.

There is a good service on the rest of the line.

The Hammersmith and City line is experiencing minor delays westbound due to train cancellations.

All other lines are showing a good service.
