Person dies on the tracks after emergency services called to incident - Elizabeth line services impacted

A person died on the railway tracks on Thursday morning (September 21).
Emergency services were called at around 8.30am to the incident near Reading station.
The person was pronounced dead at the scene.

Hide AdThe Elizabeth line was suspended between Reading and Maidenhead following the incident and Great Western Railway services were impacted.
A British Transport Police spokesperson said: "Officers were called to the line near Reading railway station at around 8.30am today (September 21) to reports of a casualty on the track. Paramedics also attended, however sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
At midday Transport for London (TfL) was reporting a good service on the Elizabeth line.
