Central line: Severe delays due to ‘staff shortage’ on Tube and Metropolitan line hit bit fault - Sept 20

Metropolitan line passengers bewteen Chesham and Chalfont & Latimer were left with no service while there were severe delays on the Central line on Wednesday.

Passengers using the Central and Metropolitan Tube lines were hit by severe rush hour delays on Wednesday morning (September 20).

At 8am Transport for London (TfL) was reporting severe delays on the Central line due to a “shortage of control room staff”.

A “track fault” at Chalfont & Latimer, in Buckinghamshire, meant there was no Metropolitan Line service to Chesham while it was fixed. There were severe delays between Harrow-on-the-Hill and Aldgate, along with minor delays between Harrow-on-the-Hill and Uxbridge, Watford and Amersham.

Central line

TfL reports: “Severe delays due to a shortage of control room staff. Valid tickets are being accepted on London buses, London Overground, Great Western Railway, Greater Anglia and Chiltern Railways.”

Metropolitan line

TfL reports: “No service between Chalfont & Latimer and Chesham while we fix a track fault at Chalfont & Latimer. Severe delays between Harrow-on-the-Hill and Aldgate. Minor Delays between Harrow-on-the-Hill and Uxbridge / Watford/ Amersham. Tickets are valid on Local buses, London Overground.”
