It comes as both the Met Office and BBC Weather forecast several hours of thundery downpours.

The Met Office has warned thunderstorms could cause some disruption to travel and transport services across the capital.

The warning will come into force at 10am and last until 9pm on Thursday (31st July).

The Met Office has warned of sudden flooding, which could lead to difficult driving conditions, road closures and delays to bus and train services.

It added there is a slight chance that power cuts could occur and other services to some homes and businesses could be lost.

According to the hour-by-hour forecast storms are expected to start around around 11am in the capital until 6pm.

BBC Weather said: “Tomorrow is going to be unsettled with scattered showers moving in from the north-west, some of which heavy and turning thundery in the afternoon. Turning largely dry by the end of the day.”

The yellow thunderstorm warning covers much of the South East including all of Greater London, Portsmouth, Brighton and much of Essex.
