London weather: Thunderstorm warning issued as temperatures rocket


The Met Office has issued a thunderstorm warning for London.
Londoners can expect heavy downpours and thundery outbursts following days of humidity.

Hide AdThe Met Office has warned that thunderstorms may bring some disruption during Friday evening and overnight into Saturday (14th June).
Thankfully, the storm warning ends at 6am on Saturday, just in time for the King’s birthday celebrations in the capital. Trooping of the Colour will go ahead as planned despite the storm warning.
The storm warning will come into force at 3pm on Friday, 13th June, and covers all of Greater London.
Temperatures are set to hit highs of 27C in London on Friday, bringing humidity and the chance of storms.
The outlook for Saturday is slightly cooler at around 23C.

The Met Office says to expect: “Sunny spells Friday. Heavy thundery showers overnight into Saturday, with further showers possible into the afternoon. Scattered showers Sunday, possibly heavy. Hot on Friday, humid overnight. The weekend is likely to be cooler.”
According to BBC weather, storms are mostly likely to strike London between 4pm and 6pm on Friday. Rain will continue throughout the night and stop in the early hours of Saturday.
