TfL strikes latest: Is there a Tube strike this week and will it affect the Elizabeth Line?

Major disruptions are expected across London's underground network next week as Tube workers strike - but will it affect the Elizabeth line?

The entire London Underground is set to be brought to a standstill next week as Tube workers across the network go on strike.

Tube union RMT confirmed its members would go on strike from September 7 to September 11 last month over pay and working conditions.

At the time, it claimed Transport For London (TfL) “refused to engage seriously” on matters of pay and working conditions, including “fatigue management, extreme shift patterns and a reduction in the working week.”

During the strike action, Tube services are expected to be severely disrupted, with only a few sets scheduled to run.

But will the Elizabeth Line be affected by the industrial action? Here’s everything London commuters need to know.

Will the Elizabeth Line be running during the September 2025 Tube strikes?

Yes. At this time, no strikes are currently planned for the Elizabeth line, London Overground and trams.

However, they’re likely to be extremely busy during the Tube strikes as commuters rely on them for their journeys instead.

The Elizabeth line is actually considered to be separate from the London Underground.

Although it has underground sections, TfL refers to it as a rail line rather than a part of the Tube network.
