Passengers were warned of a ‘defective train’ between Bank and London Bridge Tube stations.

The delays meant some commuters were forced to abandon their journeys and walk to work, claims The Standard.

TfL is also reporting a signal failure at London Bridge.

A service update says: “Severe delays between Kennington and Camden Town northbound via Bank while we fix a signal failure at London Bridge. Good service on the rest of the line.”

“Tickets are being accepted on London Buses, Thameslink and Southeastern Railway services via reasonable routes.”

Elsewhere on the Underground this morning animals were reported on the railway between Clapham Junction and Wandsworth Town.

All lines towards Putney were blocked while the issue was resolved. These services have resumed to normal now.
