This week, Roosters Spot on South Lambeth Road in London woke up to a large poster on the side of the Stockwell fast food joint.
The visual appeal was installed by PETA, which says it wants to remind viewers that “birds are thinking, feeling individuals.” The animal rights group added it wants to “urge viewers to go vegan.”
The billboard features a large photo of a chicken with the message: “I want you to change. Every animal is someone. Please go vegan.”
PETA has said additional messages will take over similar spots around London, which has more than 8,000 chicken shops.

Dawn Carr, Vice President of Vegan Corporate Projects at PETA said: “Behind every chicken shop take-away was a gentle bird who endured a short, miserable life and a violent, agonising death just to satisfy someone’s fleeting craving for their flesh. PETA encourages Lambeth locals and all Londoners to leave animals in peace, not pieces, and please go vegan.”
Roosters Spot in Stockwell is a halal fast food chain, known for its fried chicken. It has a rating of 4.1 stars out of 5 on Uber Eats and is one of several branches across the UK.
PETA has said the billboard is located at 161 South Lambeth Road, SW8 1XW, and will be live for one week.
