The devastating news comes just days after the birth of Mollie and her fiance Stuart Broad’s first child - a baby girl called Annabella.

In the heartfelt caption, Mollie wrote: “Heartbroken beyond words. In August, my family’s world was shattered when my Dad was diagnosed with a brain tumour. Last week, we had to face the day we hoped would never come and say goodbye.”

The singer continued: “Dad, we love you with all our hearts and we will miss you every single day. You have been our hero and it’s impossible to think of our lives without you.”

She went on to thank her father for being there for her, and revealed that he “even held on a few extra days to meet baby Annabella.”

Ending the emotional post, she added: “You gave us your everything. You will be in our hearts and our memories every single day.”

Mollie’s comments were quickly flooded by messages of condolences from her followers and celebrity friends, with Saturday’s bandmate, Una Healey writing: “I’m so sorry for your loss, he was such an amazing Dad and person. Love you so much. May he R.I.P.”

Whilst Mollie’s fellow Strictly alumni also posted their support, Alexandra Burke wrote: “Sending you so much love. I’m so sorry for your loss my darling. Praying for you all xx”

Loose Women’s, Ruth Langford, wrote: “Oh darling Mollie…I am so, so sorry to hear about your darling Dad passing. Sending you and your family so much love. Grief is the price we pay for love. Hold all your memories close…nothing can take those away. Love you darling.”

Mollie King’s last Instagram post was less than a week ago, and was the happy announcement of her baby daughter’s birth. The post included two photos of the couple taking turns to hold and kiss her.

The caption read: “Welcome to the world Annabella Broad. We have never been so in love.”

Mollie broke the news that she was expecting back in June and also shared that their first child was due on 2 November.

In October, the pop star shared her gender reveal with a snap wearing a figure-hugging powder-blue dress, as she popped a ‘Boy or Girl’ balloon - which when burst, showered them with pink confetti.

The couple initially met through mutual friends in 2012, but didn’t begin a serious relationship until March 2018. Mollie announced that Stuart popped the question on New Year’s Day in 2021, whilst they were on a romantic walk in Richmond Park, in London.
