Jacques O’Neill has denied claims that he followed former Love Island co-star Remi Lambert home after a raucous night out.

Remi took to Instagram on Sunday and posted that the ex-rugby star, 23, and a friend had not only followed him home, but said that Jacques’ friend had punched him.

He posted: “Last night I was assaulted by one of Jaques’s friends. Jacques and him followed me on my walk back home from a club”.

The rapper, 23, who starred on the ITV2 show last summer, also alluded to the fact that Jacques can’t move on from the argument that they had had whilst they were starring in Love Island.

He posted that, on the night of the assault, Jaques had taunted him and asked if Remi was scared of him.

Remi responded: “If I don’t like you, why should I speak to you?”

It is no secret that these two Love Island celebrities have had issues. Last year, Remi accused Jacques and Luca of bullying him whilst they were in the villa. Remi stated his time on the show was “ruined” after an unaired row with Jacques.

He posted: "Everyone said I lied about the way I was treated in that villa, but this here is an example of what was going on whilst I was in there.”

"It’s not banter, it’s clear signs of bullying,” he added.

Jacques has denied the claim that he followed Remi home and told OK! magazine that he was "not physically involved in anything that happened".

He also said he wanted answers from Remi who has, reportedly, been bad-mouthing him and he resented this.

Jacques posted: “We will start by the big lie about following him home. I can’t believe he’s even put that but I understand why because it sounds bad”.

Jacques followed up by explaining that: “I didn’t begin to start an argument. I wanted answers from him as I got a voice note on Instagram from some lad saying that he was talking to Remi and Remi has been telling people that he’s going to kick s**t out of me”.

Remi replied saying: “Just to clarify, I never said you were involved in the fight, I said your friend punched me" and encouraged Jacques to ‘give your friend up to the police now.”

Previously, Jaques and good friend Luca posted clips of them mocking Remi’s rapping abilities and were criticised for their behaviour.

Followers of the Love Island stars were keen to comment on Instagram.

One told Jaques: “So now you’re assaulting Remi now?! Good luck when you get arrested !!”

Another Remi supporter posted: “Why would you follow someone you had beef with a year ago and let your friend assault him?”
