Love Island 2023: Tanyel fans fear she will be dumped from the villa after Shaq voices concerns to Jordan

Love Island fans have accused the ITV show of setting up a scenario where Tanyel Revan will be dumped from the South African villa.

Viewers took to Twitter after Wednesday night’s episode to speculate that the hair stylist, 26, from North London, will be at risk of having to leave the villa if Jordan Odofin is tasked with having to choose between her and Ellie Spence.

Shaq Mohammad was seen voicing concerns over Tanyel and Jordan’s chemistry to Olivia Hawkins, before directly warning the 28-year-old Londoner about his observations.

One viewer tweeted: “If Tanyel gets dumped it’s Shaq to blame how is he gonna tell Jordan that Tanyel is not interested mate stay out of people’s business #loveisland”

Another said: “I’m barely hanging in with this series. I only really like Tanyel in the girls, the “solid” couples bore me, the others are meh. If Tanyel goes tonight in the recoupling then there isn’t much to watch. I will also blame Shaq and Olivia if she does end up being dumped #loveisland”

“Nah, I don’t like that at all @LoveIsland Shaq and Liv (especially Liv) are gunning for Tanyel with that. Have we seen Liv and Kai talking AT ALL? But suddenly it’s a big deal that Tanyel might not like Jordan enough, when they aren’t even in a couple?! #LoveIslandUK #loveIsland,” a third wrote.

A fourth added: “So Shaq gossips with Olive oil about Tanyel and Jordan right before a recoupling? So y’all don’t see how producers are setting Tanyel up like they did Zara? Oh okay #loveisland”

Shaq began to raise concerns about the connection between Tanyel and Jordan by calling Olivia for a chat because he wanted her “opinion on something.”

“What do you make of the whole Jordan and Tanyel situation?,” Shaq asked.

Olivia said: “I don’t think she’s attracted to him, do you?”

Shaq responded: “I don’t know. The last couple of days he’s put more effort into her. I kind of feel bad if he’s putting bare effort into her and she’s not even feeling it.”

Olivia said: “Did she not do that to Spencer too.”

The pair began to laugh among themselves by the fire pit as they agreed that they didn’t understand Tanyel’s connection with former islander Spencer Wilks.

Olivia admitted that she feels “weary” of Tanyel’s behaviour with guys, while Shaq suggested that Tanyel is only opting for whoever is convenient.

Shaq claimed Tanyel would “drop [Jordan] like a stone” if a bombshell who was her type entered the villa.

The airport security officer, 24, was later seen in the episode joined by his partner Tanya, 23, as he raised his concerns to Jordan.

When asked for her honest opinion, Tanya said: “Tanyel is my friend. She’s lovely but a slow burner. However, when she came back from your first date, she was like ‘he’s nice and easy to talk to, straight forward, I like how confident he is.’

“All this nice stuff but it was very generic and she said ‘you know me, I’m slow’. So at the moment, no, not interested and left it there. As the days have gone by it’s still the same when we ask her. There’s no one in here that she likes and she’s waiting for her type.”

Shaq added: “I personally, if I was putting in effort for a girl and she wasn’t all the way there feeling me wise, I would want you to tell me.”

Jordan responded: “You never know what’s around the corner you know, my heads still a bit scrambled.”

Elsewhere in the episode, Olivia seemed unimpressed as she attempted to quiz Tanyel about her preferences in the villa.

“I think he’s handsome but I don’t know if the cheekiness is there, however personality wise I think that is there. He’s got a sick personality and I don’t get bored having convo. I feel like I can be casual, be myself,” Tanyel said.

Olivia asked: “So is Jordan your only person who you’re interested in then?”

Tanyel responded: “Kind of, yeah.”

Tanyel shook her head as Olivia pushed further for the hair stylist to give another name. Love Island fans were left speculating that Shaq and Olivia’s interfering in the potential romance could affect Tanyel’s future in the villa.

The episode ended with tense looking islanders after it was revealed that a recoupling would be taking place.
