Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu has shared that she may be forced to miss the first live Dancing on Ice show after falling ill with a fever.

Ekin-Su, 28, who won the eighth series of Love Island alongside partner Davide Sanclimenti was set to make her ice skating debut on Sunday.

The first episode of the 2023 series of Dancing on Ice begins on Sunday (January 15) night at 6:30pm with six of the 11 celebrities lined up to perform.

On Thursday January 12, the reality television star tweeted out that she was unwell and had been advised to rest by doctors.

Ekin-Su told her 104.8k Twitter followers of the news that has seen fellow celebrity contestant Vivienne wishing her well.

The Love Island star told her followers: “Very Ill. Doctors have told me to rest hopefully I can recover very quickly ready for Sunday.”

Ekin-Su is ‘in good hands’ as her boyfriend Davide shared a photo of him cuddling his girlfriend in their bed.

Davide shared a photo of the couple to his Instagram stories as the reality star attempted to rest, telling his followers: “Someone’s home with the fever… in good hands tho.’

The news comes after Ekin Su had tweeted on Wednesday that she was still suffering from an illness.

She told her followers: “Had this flu for a month now! Not what you need for the live show Sunday! Need to rest.”

Dancing on Ice is set to begin with the first live show on Sunday evening with stars such as Nile Wilson, Joey Essex and Patsy Palmer set to make their debut at the weekend.

Eleven celebrities are set to show off their newly learned figure skating skills in front of the four judges Jayne Torvill, Christopher Dean, Ashley Banjo and Oti Mabuse.

The news of Ekin-Su’s health comes just days after she revealed that she had previous ice skating experience.

She also revealed that one of her strengths is being ‘very competitive’.

The Love Island star said: “I skated when I was a kid but it’s been ages since I skated, you forget don’t you? During the pandemic I forgot how to walk because we were stuck inside for two years!”

Ekin-Su is paired with Brendyn Hatfield and added: “I’m very competitive. so if I have to do two hours of rehearsing then I’ll be there for four - I’m going to aim for the sky!

“My strengths would be that I’m competitive, passionate and I learn movement quickly. My weaknesses would be overthinking and getting impatient. If I can’t do something, I’ll try and try until I can do it.”

The reality star was also asked if the Dancing on Ice experience was one of the scariest things she’s ever done where she replied:  ‘I’ve never been scared in my life, I’ve never been nervous in my life, I’ve always been confident. I think the only time I’d be nervous would be at the final. I know I’m going to fall and hurt myself because in life you fall and hurt yourself. I’m ready.”

She was also asked if she plans to win the figure skating competition, where Ekin-Su said: “Yes I am, otherwise I’m not doing it. I don’t mind going home early but my mind doesn’t work like that. If I’m doing it, I’m putting 100 per cent in. I’m going to believe in myself, I believe in myself so much.”
