Oxford Street closures this weekend: Times, dates and travel disruption explained
Oxford Street to close overnight this weekend as TfL confirms crane works.
London’s busiest shopping street is set to close overnight this weekend, with parts of Oxford Street shutting to traffic due to essential works.

TfL has confirmed that Oxford Street will be closed in sections between Saturday night into Sunday morning, prompting bus diversions and temporary changes for late-night travellers in the West End.
According to a spokesperson, the first closure will take place between Oxford Circus and Marble Arch from 10pm on Saturday, 31 January until 6am on Sunday, 1 February, followed by a second closure between Oxford Circus and Tottenham Court Road from 10pm on Sunday, 1 February until 6am on Monday, 2 February.
The overnight closures are required to allow crane operations to safely take place in the area.

TfL said that buses will be diverted or may stop short of their usual destinations, but will continue to serve all stops along diversion routes. Pedestrians will still be able to access Oxford Street on foot throughout the closures.
Shoppers and theatre-goers heading into the West End late at night are being advised to check their journeys in advance, particularly if travelling by bus.
The weekend disruption follows ongoing Openreach works, which have been taking place in the area from 10.15pm on Sunday 26 January until 11.59pm on Friday 30 January.
Oxford Street is one of the capital’s most heavily used roads, attracting hundreds of thousands of visitors each day, and is no stranger to overnight closures for maintenance and infrastructure work.
TfL has urged road users to plan ahead and allow extra time for journeys while the closures are in place.
