As Notting Hill Carnival continues into its second day, the range and vibrancy of the costumes continues to prove spectacular.
One of the world’s largest street festivals, west London’s Notting Hill Carnival attracts around two million people every year.
This year has a particular significance, as it celebrates 50 years since sound systems were first introduced, and 75 years since HMT Empire Windrush docked in England.
From Ladbroke Grove to Westbourne Park, attendees can enjoy a host of entertainment and other delights celebrating Caribbean culture.
After yesterday’s (August 27) Family Day, in which the event saw a range of parades, music and food, the event is expected to continue the celebrations in style into its second and final day, Adult’s Day.
And a key part of that is the Adult’s Parade, described by organisers as “the carnival climax”. Below, we run through some of our favourite costumers from today’s parade.
