The owners posted on Instagram, saying: “We are launching The Warmer Room, in a venue where the walls reminisce the thumping beats of the past, but now, they shall reminisce no more.”

Previously, the club was called Public Life , but was closed down in 2012 after having its license revoked for drug-related offences. A police raid found a quantity of drugs and 13 people were arrested for suspected drugs offences.

The club had a strong following, with a reviewer posting on Yelp: “This is a rather interesting bar housed in a former public toilet outside Christchurch Spitalfields.

“The thought of spending a night in a public toilet may not be very appealing but if you want to have a night to remember then I would really recommend coming here.

“It’s a pretty small bar with a small dance floor and the night i was there a cloud of balloons was released from a net on the ceiling which was fun.

“Great place to come to dance the night away to 80’s tunes (may change depending on the night).”

Angry neighbours signed a petition during night club days to get the venue shut down, complaining of loud noise. London borough of Tower Hamlets then revoked its licence.

It was put on the market, and dubbed the ‘most expensive toilet’ in London, priced at £1 million.

Estate agents Clarke and Lloyds described the 600sqft-space property on their website: “Formerly a public toilet, the site was redeveloped into a commercial unit over 15 years ago and was being used as bar/restaurant.

“The premises is brilliantly situated in the heart of commercial street, directly opposite the Spitalfield market and within easy walking distance to both Shoreditch and Aldgate.”

The Warmer Room has a capacity for 80 people and there will be a monthly night with DJ sets going forward.
