The Metropolitan Police’s Marine Policing Unit, London Ambulance Service, London Fire Brigade, the RNLI and the National Police Air Service all searched the area.

The body of a man was recovered at 12.20pm on Monday May 13 along the same riverside path.

Formal identification is yet to take place, however officers believe this is the man who entered the water on Sunday, a Met Police spokesperson said.

The Met Office said Sunday was the warmest day of the year so far, with 27.5C recorded in Chertsey, Surrey.
