Photos show rescue mission underway after man scales Tower Bridge
The landmark bridge will reopen shortly as the man is now down, say City police
Photos from the scene show a rescue mission underway in central London this afternoon (10th March) after a person was spotted climbing the railings of Tower Bridge.

City of London police have urged the public to ‘avoid the area’, while emergency services handle the situation.
Boats and traffic are being held while the hooded figure is rescued by firefighters.

Photos from Tower Bridge show emergency services escorting the person from the railings in a yellow crane.
The bridge is closed, while police, fire, and ambulance services have been spotted at the scene.
The incident comes days after a pro-Palestinian protester scaled Elizabeth Tower, creating an hours-long standoff with emergency workers.

It is not yet known if the two incidents are linked. LBC reported the hooded figure on Tower Bridge did not appear to be holding a flag of any description.
City of London Police have said that the bridge will reopen shortly as the man is now down.
