'Fresh, new and futuristic': All the reasons why Londoners love the Elizabeth Line

Last week we shared the news that the Elizabeth Line has been awarded a top architecture award.

The Underground Line which officially opened in May 2022, was celebrated for its modern infrastructure and efficiency.

The Lizzy Lines’ streamlined design has become a firm favourite among Londoners. In fact, many people would like to see some of the existing lines upgraded to follow suit.

So to celebrate its 2024 RIBA (Royal Institute of British Architecture) award win, we asked Londoners to tell us their favourite things about the Elizabeth Line.

One person said they enjoyed how “clean, fresh and lovely and new it is.” adding they enjoyed its “slightly futuristic” appearance. While another called it a “game changer”.
