The capital is currently experiencing a period of warm weather characterised by abundant sunshine and pleasant temperatures. While not officially classed as a heatwave, the current conditions offer a taste of early summer warmth. And we are LOVING IT!
The sunshine was briefly interrupted on Monday for thunderstorms in North London, although this was short-lived, the Met Office issued a yellow weather warning.
And the good news is, it appears to be sticking around for the next week or so at least, with forecasts showing bright sunshine and temperatures sticking over 20°C.
Here’s the outlook for the next five days, including the weekend.
Wednesday, May 14: Expect mostly sunny skies with temperatures reaching up to 24°C.
Thursday, May 15: A slight dip in temperature to 18°C with some low clouds in the morning, followed by sunshine.
Friday, May 16 to Sunday, May 18: Pleasant conditions persist with highs ranging from 21°C to 22°C and plenty of sunshine.
The Met Office indicates that the current warm and dry conditions will continue into next week, with high pressure dominating the weather pattern.
No significant rainfall is forecasted in the immediate future, suggesting that the warm spell will persist for several more days. Ooh yeah!
