London’s ULEZ charge to be suspended on Christmas Day
London drivers can enjoy a ULEZ-free Christmas Day.
Transport for London (TfL) has confirmed there will be no charges for drivers passing through the Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) on Christmas Day (December 25).
ULEZ, which covers all of London’s 32 boroughs, operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, every day of the year.
Typically, vehicles that don’t meet ULEZ standards have to pay a £12.50 charge. This applies to cars, motorcycles, vans, specialist vehicles and minibuses.
However, non compliant vehicles driving through the city on December 25 won’t be charged a ULEZ fee.
From midnight to midnight, Londoners on Christmas Day will be able to hit the road without having to worry about the charge.
Christmas Day has been exempt from ULEZ’s annual charging schedule since it was first enforced in 2019.
London’s Congestion Charge will also not apply on December 25. It will be suspended until New Year’s Day (January 1).
