Is it actually going to snow in London? Here's what the forecasts including BBC and Met Office say

Here’s a breakdown of what all the major forecasters are saying about the probability of snow in London this weekend.

London could experience its first snowfall of the new year this week.

The Met Office has issued a snow warning for London from tomorrow (January 3rd) until 11:59pm on Sunday (January 6th.)

This warning has been reduced, when it was first issued this morning it was expected to last until 9am on Monday, 5th.

While no two forecasts are the same at the moment, it is likely the capital will see some snow over the next week.

According to the Google weather service, snow is expected to fall in London on Saturday at 9pm.

It is also forecasting snow next Thursday (January 9th) at midday.

According to the WX Charts weather map, snow will fall in London on Sunday (January 5th) with Londoners waking up to snowy scenes.

BBC weather predicts snow for London

BBC Weather is also showing a warning for snow and ice in London over the weekend.

According to BBC Weather snow will fall in London from 5pm until 7pm on Saturday and then again next Thursday from 7pm.

All forecasters are suggesting there is a chance of travel delays on the roads and rails due to icy conditions.

It is unlikely but there may also be some disruption to internet and mobile services and / or power cuts.

In addition to snow, London is also bracing for minus temperatures - especially overnight.

Temperatures are expected to drop to as low as -3C in the capital tonight and -2C tomorrow (Friday).
