A woman in Hornchurch has died following a fatal XL bully attack.

The woman, who was in her 50s, was reportedly mauled to death by her own XL Bully dogs on Monday afternoon (May 20) at an address on Cornwall Close in Hornchurch, Havering.

While she was treated by medics from the London Ambulance Service following the attack she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Armed Met Police officers found two registered XL bullies in the property, who were shut inside a room, which have since been seized and removed.

Since February 1, it is a criminal offence to own or possess an American XL bully without an exemption certificate.

Currently, XL bully owners must comply with restrictions including keeping XL bullies muzzled and on a lead in public, and having their dogs neutered and microchipped.
