Croydon born Stormzy, real name Michael Omari Owuo Jr, stood silently beside Elianne’s family as they led mourners in prayer.

A choir also sang Amazing Grace, with mourners joining in.

Elianne’s mother, Dorcas Andam, paid an emotional tribute to her “amazing, beautiful” daughter, who she said “loved living life to the fullest” and “should be planning her prom”, the Independent reported.

“She brought joy to so many, including her friendship group,” Ms Andam said.

“She was an amazing, beautiful, girl.

“She loved and touched lives around her.”

Elianne was stabbed as she made her way to school in Croydon at around 8.30am last Wednesday morning (September 27).

She was pronounced dead at the scene near a bus stop on Wellesley Road at 9.21am. A 17-year-old boy has been charged with her murder.

He will face a murder trial on April 29 of next year.
