Woolwich stabbing: Man, 19, fighting for his life

Two males, both aged 15, were arrested nearby on suspicion of attempted murder. They were later bailed pending further enquiries.

A man, 19, is still fighting for his life after being rushed to hospital by ambulance following a stabbing in south east London.

Police were called at midnight on Sunday to reports of a stabbing in Mayplace Lane, Woolwich.

Officers attended along with the London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance where they found the teenager with stab injuries.

He was taken to hospital where he remains in a life-threatening condition. His family have been informed.

Two males, both aged 15, were arrested nearby on suspicion of attempted murder. They were later bailed pending further enquiries.

Detectives from the local policing team in south-east London are carrying out a number of enquiries to work out what happened. They are appealing for any witnesses, who have not yet spoken with police, to come forward.
