Police appeal for witnesses as victim in fatal collision named

The victim of a fatal collision in Croydon has been named as police continue to appeal for witnesses.

Christopher Searle-Dighton died at a south London hospital on Friday.

London Ambulance Service found the 34-year-old after responding at just after 7.30pm on Tuesday January 3 to reports of a collision involving a car and a pedestrian.

The driver of the car stopped at the scene on Brighton Road in South Croydon and has not been arrested.

Mr Searle-Dighton’s next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

Anyone who witnessed the collision but has yet to speak with police is asked to call 101 and quote reference CAD 5784/03Jan
