A police spokesperson said that at approximately 2.10pm a man smashed the windscreen of a police car near Uxbridge Underground station and was “acting aggressively”.

They said a Taser was deployed while a man was detained by several officers.

“The 38-year-old was subsequently arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and taken into custody,” they said. “No officers were injured.”

At least 10 officers arrived at the scene as a crowd gathered around.

The man was heard shouting: “Why have you Tasered me?”

Other people were heard saying: “Why did you do that?”
